INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION

Sorabotka

The founding Assembly of Macedonian Red Cross was held on March 17, 1945. Macedonian Red Cross operates as an independent national society since May 21, 1992. Macedonian Red Cross was recognized by the International Committee on November 1, 1995 and become full-fledged member of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies on November 27, 1995.

One of the primary objectives of the national society is effective and continuous building of partnership relations and cooperation through implementation of programme and project activities with partner organizations targeted for assistance and support to different target groups. In the past period Macedonian Red Cross continuously built its image in the Republic of Macedonia and within the Red Cross/Red Crescent Movement. The diversity of our organization is a practical value which enables us to reach more people. The biggest challenge of our organization is provision of continuous activities through innovative and transparent operation to maintain the interest of the partner organizations for mobilization of funds for implementation of programme and project activities of Macedonian Red Cross.

In frames of the implementation of the programme activities, Macedonian Red Cross has good cooperation with many international agencies and organizations such as diplomatic/consular missions in the Republic of Macedonia, International Committee of the Red Cross, International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, EU, USAID, UNICEF, UNDP, and others.

The well established cooperation with the partnership organizations is a good precondition Macedonian Red Cross to continue to implement different projects and programmes financed by international donors targeted for different vulnerable categories of population in the local communities, as well as for the organizational development of the national society.

Macedonian Red Cross has international cooperation with many international organizations and Red Cross and Red Crescent national societies by means of implementation of joint projects, humanitarian actions and exchange of positive experiences. The primary objective of the international cooperation is exchange of experiences and provision of project and programme support for provision of services for different categories of beneficiaries.

The international cooperation of Macedonian Red Cross is targeted towards improvement of the capacities of the national society for more efficient accomplishment of the humanitarian mission in the Republic of Macedonia and in the world in its efforts for provision of assistance for the most vulnerable categories of population.
